Note: Before starting the installation, ensure that the engine is cool to the touch and the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
- Locate the transmission oil cooler on your 2011-2016 Ford F-250 F-350 6.7 Diesel. It is typically located in front of the radiator and behind the grille.
- Use hose clamp pliers to loosen the clamps securing the transmission cooler lines to the cooler.
- Place a drain pan underneath the cooler and disconnect the transmission cooler lines by carefully pulling them away from the cooler.
- Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the old transmission oil cooler to the vehicle.
- Carefully remove the old transmission oil cooler from the vehicle.
- Install the new transmission oil cooler onto the vehicle by aligning it with the mounting points and securing it with bolts.
- Reconnect the transmission cooler lines to the new transmission oil cooler and secure them with hose clamps.
- Refill the transmission fluid using a funnel and the manufacturer’s recommended transmission fluid.
- Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes while checking for any leaks.
- Check the transmission fluid level and add more if necessary.
