- Connect the wiring harness of the new trailer hitch plug into the vehicle’s wiring harness. The wiring harness should snap into place.
- Insert the new trailer hitch plug into the receptacle on the rear bumper until it clicks into place.
- Test the new trailer hitch plug by plugging in a trailer and checking that all functions are working properly.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable and test the new trailer hitch plug again.
